The Geotechnical Laboratory is well-equipped with testing equipment for evaluating all engineering properties of soils and aggregates, including index properties, compaction characteristics of soils, hydraulic characteristics, compressibility, rate of consolidation and shear strength. In-situ soil tests like SPT and Vane Shear facility is also available. The existing testing facilities include the followings:
- • Triaxial Shear testing apparatus
- • Direct Shear Box testing apparatus
- • Consolidometer
- • Earthquake fault box testing apparatus.
- • Atterberg’s Limits
- • Particle Size Distribution of Soil
- • Specific Gravity
- • Field Compaction
- • Laboratory Compaction
- • California Bearing Ratio
- • Loss Angels Abrasion
- • Unconfined Strength of Soil
- • Permeability of Soil
- • Soundness of Aggregates
- • Flash and Softening Points for Bitumen
