Meeting With Prof. Ahsan Iqbal

An important meeting was held between Prof. Ahsan Iqbal (Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives), Prof. Dr. Liaqat Ali (Director of the National Centre of Excellence in Geology), and Prof. Dr. Hong (Project Director China Pakistan Joint Research Centre) to discuss the strategic establishment and operational framework of a proposed sub-campus/research facility at NCEG in collaboration with the China-Pakistan Joint Research Centre on Earth Sciences.
The proposed sub-campus is envisioned to advance research in geology, geohazards, and disaster-risk reduction while promoting community resilience against natural disasters. The initiative aims to strengthen Pakistan's institutional capacity in earth sciences, disaster preparedness, and sustainable development through joint research programs, technology transfer, scientific innovation, and academic exchange initiatives between the two countries.
The sub-campus is expected to be inaugurated in the near future by Ahsan Iqbal, reflecting the Government of Pakistan's commitment to scientific diplomacy, regional research cooperation, and enhanced China-Pakistan collaboration in the fields of earth sciences and disaster management.
