Scientific Symposia and Themes
Two separate symposia are designed. Symposia A covers traditional conference themes, whereas Symposia B covers
sponsored sessions (details below).
Symposia A (Thematic Sessions)
Theme 1: Geoscience For Society: Environment, Geo-Awareness, Geo-Heritage, Geo-Archaeology.
Theme 2: Himalayan and pre-Himalayan tectonics
Theme 3: Mineral resources, Deposits and Mining
Theme 4: Sedimentology and Stratigraphy
Theme 5: Petroleum geosciences
Theme 6: Engineering Geology and Geomechanics
Theme 7: Geoinformatics
Theme 8: Disaster Management
Theme 9: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) opportunities
Symposia B (Sponsored Sessions)
Sponsored sessions will provide excellent opportunity to all those government and non-government organizations who would like to showcase their research and professional activities to the community. Each sponsored session will be of 1 – 3 hours duration. The sponsored session will be dedicated to the organization concerned, who will lead/chair the whole session. For further information contact the organizing committee.

Abstract template is available at: http://nceg.uop.edu.pk/conferences/ESP2018/Introduction.html. The conference abstracts will be published in an abstract
volume of the Journal of Himalayan Earth Sciences (JHES). Each oral presentation will be for 15 minutes including 2 minutes for discussion at the end.
There will be a poster competition among the students’ posters. A poster evaluation committee will select the best poster of ESP2018.

Boarding/lodging |

| Rs. 8000 (03 nights Baragali campus shared accommodation; Rs. 4000 for students). The participants are requested to make their own arrangements for off-campus accommodation, the organizers may suggest hotels for off-campus accommodation. The registration fee covers all meals and refreshments from 10th August (evening) to 13th August (evening).
