"ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT OF POTENTIALLY TOXIC ELEMENTS AND ASSOCIATED EXPOSURE AND RISK IN DISTRICT SWABI, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN"

Mr. Muhammad Tariq successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis on August 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG), University of Peshawar. His thesis, entitled “Environmental Assessment of Potentially Toxic Elements and Associated Exposure and Risk in District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan,” was supervised by Dr. Seema Anjum Khattak (Assistant Professor, NCE in Geology, University of Peshawar) and co-supervised by Dr. Liaqat Ali (Professor & Director, NCEG, University of Peshawar). The external examination committee included Dr. Dilawar Farhan Shams, Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, and Dr. Bushra Khan, Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Peshawar. In his research, Mr. Tariq conducted a comprehensive assessment of potentially toxic elements (PTEs), their sources, exposure pathways, and associated human and ecological risks in District Swabi. The outcomes of this study have been published in reputed international journal, highlighting its significance and contribution to environmental sciences. The NCEG community extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Muhammad Tariq on this outstanding academic achievement and wishes him success in his future academic and professional endeavors. Mr. Tariq expressed his sincere credit to his supervisor, co-supervisor, external examiners, and the entire NCEG community for their valuable guidance, encouragement, and support throughout his Ph.D. journey.
