Digital Library in Academia and Research
Mr. Zeeshan Ullah, Assistant Librarian, Islamia College Peshawar
Digital Library is a systematically organized collection of electronic resources (e-books, e-journals, videos, audios and images etc.) that provides searching, browsing and downloading facilities to its users. We have various digital libraries platform available online, which provides access to international scholarly e-literature, access to high quality, peer-reviewed journals, databases, articles, theses, and e-Books across a wide variety of disciplines to researchers. Utilization of HEC Digital Library and other online digital libraries will be covered for E-Literature Search. We will learn how to search, browse, filter, cite and download E-Literature for research purposes.
Mr. Zeeshan Ullah is working as Assistant Librarian in Islamia College Peshawar since 2009. He got his MS-LIS degree from Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology Peshawar in 2017. He got Gold Medal in MLISc from University of Peshawar in 2007. He also remained the librarian of University of Engineering and Technologies Abbottabad Campus for two years (2007 to 2009).
He is the Assistant Secretary General of Pakistan Library Association 2017 to date. He has been the President, Peshawar Universities Campus Librarians Association (2016-2017) and President, Pakistan Librarians Welfare Organization, KP Chapter (2013-2014). He is the Lifetime Member of Pakistan Library Association. He is the Executive Member of University of Peshawar Library & Information Science Alumni Association (UPLISAA).
He has published three research papers and presented five research papers in various conferences at national and international level. He is the first Asian Librarian who has won the International Essay Competition of EBSCO-HOST in 2012 Charleston Conference, USA titled “Looking for the Silver Lining: Positive Outcomes from Troubled Times.
He has been the organizer of around 18 Trainings/Conferences/Workshops/Seminars. He has served as resource persons/speaker in various trainings regarding Online Searching Techniques, HEC Digital Libraries, Citation Management Tools, and Library Automation Software e.g. Koha, DSpace, Callibre, LIMS OPAC, EndNote, Mendeley, Google Forms, and Google Sties etc. at national level in the following institutions/organizations:
