"GIS & Space Applications in Geosciences Lab (GSAG-L) is recently established at the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG), University of Peshawar. The GSAG is an affiliated laboratory of the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, established under a PC1 project of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. This lab aims to utilize the advanced GIS techniques and remote sensing data supported with the in-situ data for geosciences applications with a specific focus on geo-hazards, minerals/geological applications, forests and water resources. Under the auspices of the GSAG, we have organized the first specialized training workshop on “Exploration of geosciences using advanced geo-information tools” from 21-25 June 2021, at the National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar.
