PhD studentships National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar Higher Education Commission (HEC) Funded Project

 

Applications are invited from Pakistani nationals for two PhD positions under HEC-NRPU funded Research Project No. 7888/KPK/ NRPU/R&D/HEC/ 2017 titled as “Integrated stratigraphical, paleoenvironmental and hydrocarbon potential
analysis of the upper Paleocene-Eocene succession of Kohat Plateau and Sulaiman Range in the context of India-Asia collision, Indus Basin Pakistan”on a fixed and as per approved budget from HEC.


Eligibility:

For PhD studentship: The candidates are required to possess M.S/M.Phil, PhD. Degree in the field of Geology with specialization in sedimentology/petroleum geology with at least two first divisions (one in MS, Mphil, PhD) and no third division in the academic career. The candidate must be enrolled in Ph.D program of the NCE in Geology, UoP. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their course works and have already submitted their proposals with objectives in line with the broader objectives of the project.


Project information: The project duration is 36 months and the candidate have to sign a bond for the entire duration
Contract: Initial appointment will be for six months, extendable to further six months based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds from donar agency.
