Dr. Irfan U. Jan from the National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar attended Editors Café, held at Marriot, Islamabad on 21st November, 2015. The program was organized by the Asian Council for Sciences Editors (ACSE). The Asian Council of Science Editors is a legally registered organization with headquarters in Dubai, dedicated to promote best practices in scholarly publishing in the Asian region. It works with journal editors and publishers offering them networking, training, workshops, meetings and discussions forums. ACSE strives to enhance its members understanding, skills and knowledge to raise the quality and reliability of the scientific literature being produced from Asia. The Editors Café was attended by 45 editors from different Pakistani Scholarly Journals. The event was chaired by Dr. Anwar ul Hassan Gilani, Chairperson Pakistan Council for Science and Technology and Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari, Secretary General, Pakistan Academy of Sciences. During the event the participants emphasized on the merits, ethics and honesty in research. Moreover, they highlighted the presence of ghost authorships in research and the importance of quality of content for a research. The ACSE highlighted the role of Asian Council of Science Editors in improving the standards of Pakistani Scholarly Journals.
