“Post graduate Diploma (1-Year) in
Geotechnical Material Testing and Evaluation”

INTRODUCTION
The National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar is the leading Earth Sciences Research and Higher Education institution in the country. Established under the Parliament Act in 1974, the Centre offers post-graduate study programs including Ph.D, M.Phil, MS and Post-Graduate Diploma awarded by the University of Peshawar. This Centre has highly qualified faculty, state of the art laboratories including Geotechnical Engineering, Electron Microprobe (EPMA), Wet-Geochemistry, X-Ray Fluorescence spectrometer (XRF), X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), GIS/Remote Sensing, Thin section Cutting and Polishing, GPS Geodesy, Petroleum Geochemistry, Hydrogeophysics, Petrography/Microscopy, Environmental Soil Science, Paleontology, and a National Library of Earth Sciences. The Centre has highly qualified faculty with 19 Ph.D, 5 M.Phil, assisted by over 20 Research Associates with M.Phil and Master degrees. Recognizing Centre’s contributions in the field of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the Government of Pakistan has awarded the Centre’s faculty with 4 Civil Awards and 4 Presidential Awards.
NCEG announces admission in Post Graduate Diploma in “Geotechnical Material Testing and Evaluation”. The course is relevant to the construction materials and earth, which is required in the field of construction of buildings, roads and dams. Students will be trained for taking an effective role in the national building projects. Also, the students will be trained up to a level to take responsibilities in projects implementation as a geologist in the construction of civil structures.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE ADMISSION FORM
Prescribed application forms are available on cash payment of Rs. 250/- from the office of National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar on a payment of Rs. 250/- or can be downloaded from Centre’s website i.e. http://nceg.uop.edu.pk from 20.11.2017 for admission to One Year Post graduate Diploma in Geotechnical Material Testing and Evaluation. ELIGIBILITY

• Graduates having Bachelor degree at least in second division in Geology / Civil Engineering /Mining Engineering / Geological Engineering.
