Post graduate Diploma in Geographic Information System & Remote Sensing (GIS/RS)

Introduction:

The National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar (NCEG), established under the Parliament Act in 1974, is the leading Earth Sciences Research and Higher Education institution in the country. The Centre offers post-graduate study programs including Ph.D, M.Phil, MS and Postgraduate Diploma awarded by the University of Peshawar. This Centre has state of the art laboratories including Electron Microprobe (EPMA), Wet-Geochemistry, X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF), X-Ray Diffractometre (XRD), GIS/Remote Sensing, Thin section Cutting and Polishing, GPS Geodesy, Petroleum Geochemistry, Hydro-geophysics, Petrography/Microscopy, Environmental Soil Science, Paleontology, and a National Library of Earth Sciences. The Centre has highly qualified faculty with 19 PhDs, 12 M.Phils, assisted by 5 Research Associates. Recognizing Centre’s contributions in the field of Earth & Environmental Sciences, the Government of Pakistan has awarded the Center’s faculty with 4 Civil Awards and 5 Presidential Awards.

Every year NCEG offers 1-year (2 semesters, fall and spring) Post graduate Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing since 2002 and has produced over 369 graduates under this Diploma program, working in different well reputed organizations over the country and abroad. Admissions are now open in Post Graduate Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing for the session 2017-18.

How to obtain the Admission Form:

Prescribed application forms are available on cash payment of Rs. 250/- from National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar from 15.08.2017 for admission to Post graduate Diploma in Geographic Information System & Remote Sensing (GIS/RS) or can be downloaded from Centre’s website i.e. http://nceg.upesh.edu.pk/downloads.html and the payment of Rs. 250/- can be made at the time of submission. Eligibility:

• A minimum qualification of Bachelor degree in Science or Arts (B.Sc/B.A) with at least second division.
• Preference will be given to those having Geology, Geography, Environmental Sciences and Engineering degrees with computer background.
