POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA (GIS/Remote Sensing)

The University of Peshawar is the leading Earth Sciences Research and Higher Education institution in the country. Established under Parliament Act 1974, the Centre offers post-graduate study programs including Ph.D, M.Phil, MS and Post-Graduate Diploma awarded by the University of Peshawar. This Centre has highly qualified faculty, state of the art laboratories and a National Library of Earth Sciences. Recognizing Centre’s contributions in the field of Earth & Environmental Sciences, the Government of Pakistan has awarded the Center’s faculty with 4 Civil Awards and 4 Presidential Awards.
National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar started 1-year Post graduate Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing in 2002. Since then over 180 students have graduated under this Diploma programme. The diploma graduates have a variety of background including Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Geology, Forestry, Computer Science, IT and many other fields. Diploma graduates have found employment in a variety of organizations in the country and abroad including UNDP, USAid, PTCL, GTZ, EPA, Programme Monitoring Unit (CM Secretariate), KIHE Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia Ministry of Transport, Pakistan Forest Institute, Forest Management Centre, Forest department, various public and private sector universities.
Eligibility
- Graduates having Bachelor degree at least in second division/CGPA 2.5 from a HEC recognized university..
- Preference will be given to those having computer background.
Interview
Interview of the selected candidates will be held at 10:00 a.m. on August 26, 2010 at NCE in Geology, University of Peshawar. Please bring original documents for interview.
