"ESTIMATION OF ANNUAL SOIL LOSS USING RUSLE MODEL AND ITS IMPACT ON SOIL FERTILITY AND GROUNDWATER IN PANJKORA RIVER BASIN"
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Abid Sarwar has successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis at the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG). His research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Ali, Assistant Professor at NCEG, with Dr. Shah Rukh serving as the co-supervisor. The external examination panel included Dr. Saleem Ullah, Associate Professor at the Institute of Space Technology, and Dr. Asad Ullah, Director CPBD UOP.
The thesis, titled Annual Soil Loss Estimation and Its Impact on Soil Fertility and Groundwater in the Panjkora River Basin, addresses a topic of critical environmental and agricultural importance. His research contributes to understanding how soil erosion affects both land productivity and groundwater, two essential components of sustainable land and water management in the region. By integrating geospatial tools and empirical data, his work offers valuable insights for policymakers, conservation planners, and local communities, particularly in the context of climate resilience and food security.
The entire NCEG community congratulates Mr. Abid Sarwar on this significant academic achievement and extends best wishes for his future endeavors.
