&
Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad
GIS & Space Applications in Geosciences (GSAG) Laboratory is established at the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG), University of Peshawar. The GSAG is an affiliated laboratory of the National Center of GIS and Space Applications (NCGSA), Institute of Space Technology, Islamabad, established under a PC1 project of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. This lab aims to utilize the advanced GIS techniques and remote sensing data supported with the in-situ data for geosciences applications with a specific focus on geo-hazards, minerals/geological applications, forests and water resources.
Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Pakistan, was established in 1973 to produce qualified trained manpower in specialized areas of Geology, Geophysics and Hydrogeology. This is considered essential in view of expanding programs of exploration of natural resources, particularly for Oil and Gas, Minerals & Groundwater.
This Memorandum of Understanding is to formalize cooperation between the GSAG-NCEG and Department of Earth Sciences, Quaid-i-Azam University. This cooperation shall promote and enhance the collaboration between these organizations; shall advance the knowledge base in the field of Geosciences.
