MOU Signed between NCEG and Directorate General Mines and Minerals (GDMM)

The National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar (NCEG, UOP) and Directorate General Mines and Minerals (GDMM), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa having their mutual mineral sector development interest signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday 24th March 2022
The Memorandum of Understanding sets for the terms and understanding between the DGMM and NCEG to carry out the following:

• The NCEG and DGMM will work together for strengthening the gems and mineral programs, which includes the value addition and minerals certification of the province.
• The expertise of the experienced faculty of the NCEG will be used by DGMM and its mineral title holders in the exploration and identification of various types of mineral deposits and to strengthen geological data base of KP as per type requirement of industry/ investor. The NCEG will be facilitated through an agreed upon mechanism by both parties.
• The NCEG will assist the DGMM in establishing the collaboration with national and international organisations
• Carry out joint workshops, seminars, and symposia as needed to improve the collaboration on particular research themes.
