October 7, 2021
We are incredibly excited to announce that The National Centre of Excellence in Geology and oilfield services giant Halliburton have agreed to collaborate on training the next generation of geoscience graduates under Halliburton's University Grant Programme.
To this end, a MOU was signed at Halliburton’s Office in Islamabad on October 7, 2021, where teams from the NCEG and Halliburton met, thus successfully completing the software acquisition process. Initiated and spearheaded about a year ago by the NCEG faculty and alumni, the whole process was successfully concluded at the MOU signing ceremony at Halliburton Pakistan’s office at Islamabad with strict compliance to CoVID 19 SOP’s.
Halliburton will provide academic licenses of their state-of-the-art Decision Space Geoscience software to the National Centre of Excellence in Geology for an initial term of 3 years. The software will be deployed at the NCEG in the coming weeks.
Halliburton will also provide training and workflow support to the relevant faculty and MS and PhD stage students along with mentorship in dissertations and projects.
This will significantly enhance our technical prowess as our students will be capable of competing in international geoscience competitions as well as gain skills which will enhance their employability.
Our collaboration marks a new era in our academic sphere as we aim to develop an adequately talent pool which companies can directly hire for their exploration endeavors.
