MoU signed between NCE in Geology and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan)

Prof. Dr. M. Tahir Shah, Director National Centre of Excellence in Geology, University of Peshawar, has attended the "Second International Workshop on Tethyan Orogenesis in Asia (IWTOMA) and Silk Road Higher Education Cooperation Forum" from October 16-18, 2015 in Wuhan China. During his visit, Dr. Shah signed two MoUs, one on behalf of the University of Peshawar with the China University of Geosciences (CUG) (Wuhan) and another between the National Centre of Excellence in Geology (NCEG), University of Peshawar and the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Natural Resources, CUG, Wuhan, China. According to these MoUs the cooperation between the two universities and NCEG will be continued in future in regard to training and professional development, exchange of information and technologies, joint scientific and technical research activities and organization of the joint international conferences in the field of Earth Sciences. He also delivered Key Note address on the"Present and Future Mineral Prospects of Pakistan in the Context of its Tectonic Framework" during the Plenary Session of the workshop and also attended meetings with the faculty members of the CUG to develop collaborative linkages on the mineral sector development in Pakistan.
