Course Contents: Suture-associated gemstones (gemstones of Indus suture zone and the Karakoram suture zones, their geographic distribution, occurrence and quality in Pakistan, methods of extraction, emerald, peridot, epidote, actinolite, vesuvianite, ruby, sapphire, spinel and pargasite), Pegmatite-associated gemstones (gemstones related with the pegmatites and emplacement of granitic batholiths, their geographic distribution, occurrence and quality in Pakistan, methods of extraction, aquamarine, emerald, moonstone, garnet, quartz, topaz and tourmaline), Gemstone in hydrothermal veins (gemstones associated with the hydrothermal vein deposits, their geographic distribution, occurrence and quality in Pakistan, methods of extraction, azurite, pink topaz, rutile and zircon), Miscellaneous gemstones (gemstones associated with other metamorphic, sedimentary and igneous processes, their geographic distribution, occurrence and quality in Pakistan, methods of extraction, agate, green grossular garnet (tsavorite), hessonite garnet.
