Concept of natural hazards with special reference to landslide and flood as hazard, introduction to slope instability and hazard mapping, preparing different landslide and flood hazard maps by using digitizer and computer screen, axial photo and satellite images interpretation for landslide study, input data for landslide hazard zonation, geomorphological aspects of flood hazard, flood hydrograph, concept of hazard, vulnerability and risk, low resolution satellite for landslide, flood and coastal hazard assessment, hands on exercises on data interpretation and risk assessment by applying GIS/RS as tools, manipulation and integration of data by using ILWIS/ ArcGIS/ Arc view as software, how to create risk maps and tables as output data, use of DEMs for slope analysis.
