Fluvial environments: classification of fluvial systems, braided and meandering streams- modern and ancient, alluvial fans, study of fluvial deposits of northern pakistan, brief description of modern river systems, field excursion in fluvial deposits. deltaic environments: physical processes, delta models, modern and ancient facies, sediments. lake deposits: physical and chemical processes, properties of lake water, sediments of open and closed lakes, ancient lake sediments, field-study of lake sediments around peshawar plain. eolian deposits: physical processes and erg formation, present day deserts, ancient eolian sediments.
