General techniques of collection and preparation of samples; Morphological, taxonomic, stratigraphical, and palaeoecological studies of Foraminifera, Ostracoda, Chitinozoa, conodonts, Radiolarians, Diatoms, Ostracodes, Calpionellids, Acritarchs, pollen and spores, Dinoflagellates. Importance and applications of micropaleontology
Practical:
Sampling and laboratory techniques; microscopic examination and identification of microfossils from Pakistan; preparation of oriented thin sections of larger foraminifera and their identification, disintegration for smaller foraminifera, and palynological processing techniques.
