Course contents: Shale gas reservoirs; introduction, characteristics, organic matter content and maturity, facies and depositional environment, reservoir properties, mineralogy and geochemistry for geomechanical characteristics, hydraulic fracturing techniques, biosteering and horizontal drilling, geophysical techniques for shale reservoir characterization, carbon capture and storage in shale reservoirs; Tight gas reservoirs. Definition and classification of tight gas reservoirs, Historical perspective and significance of tight gas, Factors affecting tight gas formation, Reservoir characterization and evaluation methods, case studies of tight gas reservoir development

Practical: Petrographic analyses, core sample of the unconventional reservoirs, case studies on different Unconventional reservoirs worldwide and their ages.
