Course Contents:

Introduction to contaminated land, contaminants types (e.g., heavy metals, organic and emerging contaminants), natural and anthropogenic sources, environmental and health impacts, regulatory framework governing environmental regulations and guidelines (overview of laws and regulations, environmental protection agencies and their role, soil quality standards),  risk assessment procedures related to land contamination, site investigation and monitoring, contaminant fate, mechanism of transport and transport modeling, awareness of general practice for remediation of contaminated land and understanding of remediation methods (in-situ and ex-situ remediation, soil treatment technologies, emerging technologies and innovations), case studies and real world examples
