Welcome to National Library of Earth Sciences!

The Library of the Centre houses about 7000 books and many Journals in the field of Earth and Environmental Sciences. It has been recently upgraded to the National Library of Earth Sciences, University of Peshawar, where hundreds of recently published books and journals with complete sets of back issues have been added (total number of back volume are 90 titles.). The digitization of the library is completed; in this respect all the volumes of the Journal of Himalayan Earth Sciences and the M.Phil. and Ph.D. dissertations have been digitized and are available on the Centre’s website.(http://nceg.upesh.edu.pk). The books in the library are classified as per the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. NLES host book of various disciplines such as Earthquakes Geology/ Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering, Soil Sciences, Geophysics, Geography/Geographical Information Systems/Remote Sensing, Hydrology, Metrology/Climatology, Volcanology, Mineralogy, Mining Engineering/Petroleum Engineering, Paleontology, Ecology, Geochemistry, Economic Geology, Petrology, Gemology and Environmental Sc.

National Library of Earth Sciences provides services and facilities to the staff and students. Such as scanning of A0 size maps, Printing of Maps, scanning of books, digital data of maps, (journals and books) etc. NLES has purchased two PC servers, one large size (46 inch wide) scanner (hp designjet 4500), one Plotter (hp designjet 500) one book scanner (Minolta PS7000) and HP color printers. These equipment’s are fully operated under the library staff.

Membership

A computerized membership card is issued to each member. Membership of the Library is granted to all NCEG M.Phil./MS, Ph.D. students, teaching and non-teaching staff.
